To improve efficiencies, True Value is requiring all vendors to update with 856 specifications for pallet level identification of product and GS1-128 label standards.
Any vendor of True Value must pay to test with DICentral to certify, but DCS suggests you do not start until you are completely ready to test. DICentral’s contract only allows a limited amount of days for you to finish testing or else you will risk paying more than needed in extension penalties.
Second, there is no need to move to the DICentral network when you can transmit directly using AS2. DICentral will be contacting you in July (if they have haven’t already).
GS1-128 Label Testing will be conducted by Bar Code Graphics. Each supplier is required to submit a physical sample of a Shipping Label for at least one shipping location. Suppliers are encouraged to submit samples from other shipping locations with an additional testing fee required.
All vendors must determine whether they will submit EDI transactions to True Value via DICentral web solution or testing platform. The deadline for this decision is July 31, 2013.
DCS is ready to inspect your True Value maps and tell you what is needed. We can also request an extension for your from True Value if needed.
