Omni-Channel and Invoices: Part 4

As omni-channel increasingly defines the future of retail, businesses are finding they must adopt new standards and technologies or risk losing sales, their stores, and their customers. Mobile shopping is forcing retailers to transform to remain competitive.  The key critical component is Fulfillment Strategy: Delivering on the promise to the customer.  Ship-to home, confirmed delivery means that an invoice needs to be delivered for each shipment.  The key impacts for vendors are:

  • Vastly higher quantity of invoices
  • Simple invoices, usually one item
  • Confirmation of delivery information, such as the Tracer number
  • Retention of the customer’s information for a potential return.
  • Ship-to-distribution center, but pack in singles
  • Improve reconciliation procedures to protect from unpaid invoices.
