GXS wants you to know about a change in the retail industry that will affect your EDI connection. GXS first made contact about this issue in the fall, but are now rolling out the deadline and guidelines.
GXS will be terminating its interconnect with Loren Data value-added network (VAN), a provider to SPS Commerce, that many vendors currently rely on. Loren Data’s records show many vendors are still sending and receiving data through GXS’ VAN and must address this issue.
As of March 4th, 2014, you will not be able to exchange data with vendors through the Loren Data interconnect. This means EDI transactions you are currently sending will not be processed and orders will be lost.
If you are an affected vendor, there are two approaches you can take:
- Choose another VAN, such as IBM or Ariba.
- Connect directly to EDI Provider, SPS Commerce, using an AS2 connection.
SPS Commerce is working with affected vendors to help with the transition. However, DCS can show you other choices, which can lower costs of direct connections. Start the process today by contact DCS for a FREE Assessment. DCS is committed to minimizing the disruption to your supply chain while saving you time and money.
What experiences have you had choosing a VAN? Is a direct connection to AS2 your preferred approach?
