Michael Abruzzi, Director of Vendor Relations, announced this month a suite of improvements to boost profitability of Burlington Coat Factory (BCF) and its vendors. The message: improved efficiency through more process automation makes the customer happier. Here is the EDI improvement (that Data Communication Solutions [DCS] can help you with):

| PO Style and Color Information | Our POs only contained Burlington style/ color information, requiring vendors to translate orders to match their catalog. | We have added vendor style and color information to our EDI POs, making them easier for vendors to understand and eliminating the need for translation. |
This means that you must have the GTIN for style/color/size (and assortment) set before the EDI arrives so that part-number look-up is automated. You will have more time to check inventory, etc., when style/color analysis and data entry are eliminated. DCS’ EDI specialists are ready to help you adapt your EDI in time for the Holiday orders.
