Amazon Launches Vendor APIs

Amazon introduced Vendor APIs, enabling vendors to more efficiently automate their integration. APIs are not a replacement for EDI and can run in parallel with it, however, these APIs offer benefits that EDI does not. One benefit is the ability for vendors to pull purchase order changes and cancellations in an automated way. Another is the ability to get the current order status of a purchase order.

Are you an Amazon vendor? If so, you can learn more about API integration by signing into your Vendor Central Account and going to Integration > Getting Started. To learn more about what APIs are and how they relate to EDI, check out our article “Your EDI System is for More than EDI”
