“All In” the Cloud – Part 1

EDI has evolved with newer technology, especially with the development of cloud computing. The question then is, “When have I wrung all potential out of Virtual Machine (VM)? And, how is an EDI system hosted in the cloud different?”

EDI used to only be accessed through a VM server, but now you have the option to move your server to the cloud. The choice is yours alone as your EDI will function the same in either location.

A hosted solution means a choice of two configurations:

  • EDI and AS2 systems are installed in the cloud (direct connections from the cloud to your customer)
  • A connection to a managed services provider. (ERP systems in the cloud work with EDI systems such as IBM Gentran:Server, Sterling B2B Integrator, and GXS BizLink)

When moving EDI to the cloud, our DCS EDI Specialists can provide:

  1. Installation of EDI software (development and production)
  2. Testing of the connection to EDI gateway
  3. Connection from cloud to your customers
  4. Training for your employees

If you are already in production with EDI it is not a difficult task to switch your server’s location.

Customers won’t tolerate disruptions in EDI while you are moving your server, which is where our NEXT LEVEL™ service steps in. NEXT LEVEL™ works off our extensive experience with hundreds of EDI and ERP conversions to speed up your conversation and avoid pitfalls. Contact us today for your FREE Assessment.
