Northern Wholesale, a long-term client of Data Communication Solutions, is a Minnesota-based distributor of RV, mobile home, snowmobile, and marine products. TAs their business grew, they needed to reduce manual data entry and improve efficiency—particularly in their transactions with Amazon.
Their Amazon routing process was handled manually through Amazon’s web portal, a time-consuming task that would only become more burdensome over time. To streamline operations, Northern Wholesale decided to implement X12 753 (Request for Routing Instructions) and 754 (Routing Instructions) EDI transactions with Amazon.

Now, Northern Wholesale can send the 753 directly from their ERP system without manual input. Amazon responds with a 754 transaction containing key shipping details, including pickup time, Amazon Reference Numbers, and essential data for the 856 (Ship Notice/Manifest) transaction.
