DCS Helps Food Producer Migrate to a New Server

The Challenge

Atlantic Natural Foods, a North Carolina-based producer of plant-based proteins, reached out to Data Communication Solutions (DCS) for EDI mapping assistance in Cadacus for Syspro. However, they ultimately decided to move all of their servers, including their communication software, Lexicom. DCS was tasked with migrating the Lexicom system, ensuring all settings were properly transferred, and ensuring Syspro EDI remained operational during this transition, including necessary path changes.

The DCS Solution

To help Atlantic Natural Foods with their server migration, DCS took the following steps:

• Created Documentation: We provided detailed instruction documents covering the entire Lexicom migration process, including obtaining a temporary license and transitioning to the production license on the go-live date.
• Lexicom Installation: DCS was responsible for the new installation of Lexicom and the seamless import of all system settings to the new server.
• Partner Communication: We contacted trading partners to inform them of URL changes and updated web portals for several partners on the go-live date. Our team also ensured successful connections with all trading partners.
• System Testing: Prior to go-live, we conducted thorough communication tests to verify Lexicom was fully functional on the new server.
• EDI Path Adjustment: We adjusted the paths for EDI file transfers to be handled by Syspro, ensuring smooth file pickup and drop-off processes.
• Syspro EDI Validation: DCS worked with the Syspro EDI server to test Cadacus compatibility on the new system and resolve any issues that arose.
• Go-Live Support: On the go-live date, we implemented the final URL changes to ensure smooth operations.

The Result

Thanks to DCS’ comprehensive approach, Atlantic Natural Foods is now successfully operating on their new server with Syspro, Cadacus, and Lexicom. We will continue working with them as they expand their operations with a new warehouse and additional trading partners.
