Remote EDI Management without Outsourcing
DCS’ OPERATE™ Managed Service monitors and repairs your existing EDI system every business day. We sign-on in the morning and afternoon to search for errors. During the day, when an error occurs, we automatically receive a copy of all system error messages. Work begins immediately.
You don’t give up control of your EDI system. Just as important, you avoid paying the hidden costs of conversion and per transaction fees of outsourced processing. It’s the perfect solution if you need a: quick, thorough and economical solution.
Daily Processing Manager
Your EDI processes are mature, stable, and visible; but difficult to diagnose and repair. When a disruption occurs, it affects customer service, cash flow, packing, shipping, and other departments. To avoid disruptions, DCS can monitor your EDI, network, and AS2 systems to ensure orders and shipment notices flow smoothly. U.S. business hours apply, so there are no delays.
You have 3 layers of protection:
- Twice daily log-in. Early in the morning for Purchase Orders, late in the day for Shipment Notices (ASN). We check end-to-end.
- System error messages go also to DCS, for immediate attention.
- On-line reporting so you know problems you hear of are being repaired.
This enables you and your staff to focus upon other challenges.
Here are the criteria for repairs:
- If less than 2 hours are needed, you are alerted and work begins immediately.
- If more than 2 hours are needed, you are alerted and must approve the estimate.
- If there are a number of repairs, you tell the priority.

DCS’ EDI Monitor also helps you with EDI maintenance, such as testing, changing a field, adding a customer, or moving to thrifty, secure internet data exchange. (You determine when approval of a work order is needed before work begins, so you budget is protected.)
Our maintenance extends to your ERP systems’ EDI/E-C gateway for correct import/export of data. Examples of gateways are IDocs, E-Business Suite and EnterpriseOne E-C Gateway, and AIF. (We are not ERP system general consultants.)
We do not sell EDI systems or networks, our interests always align with yours.
The cost is only $50 per day using an offshore EDI Monitor or $115 per day using a domestic EDI Monitor.
When repairs are needed, they are billed hourly at $50 or $115. Typically, in a stable environment, about 2 hours of repairs are done weekly. This totals to only $1400 or $3220 monthly.
A DCS senior EDI Specialist is also available to help you with:
- Meetings with customer service, accounts receivable, and other non-I.T. users to hear and evaluate their requests for improvement
- Planning for next year and new documents to exchange
- Training your staff to become more self-reliant
Our service spectrum is from monitoring to being your B2B manager.
