SEEBURGER Business Integration Server for EDI
DCS Can Help You with Your SAP IDoc and EDI Challenges
SAP IDocs and SEEBURGER Business Integration Server™ together process the most complex and mission critical EDI for global enterprises. Too often though, companies using BIS for X12 and EDIFACT EDI often find they are unable to change existing maps due to their complexity and time constraints.
DCS has extensive experience with SEEBURGER, SAP IDocs, and AS2, working with America’s large companies’ EDI requirements. Using a seasoned expert who knows SEEBURGER EDI and your key customers’ requirements will save you time and headaches. DCS works with your SAP dealer. Our experience is with the EDI integration to the IDocs: we do not seek non-EDI work. A recently released BIS Version 6 offers several new and unique features that boost productivity and management.
Working with DCS you can master the mapping utility; though difficult to learn it offers the most flexibility of any integration tool. You can move to linking all customers and vendors (even those not preferring EDI) because BIS supports XML as well. Cost savings are realized more quickly when leveraging existing, time-tested tools.
You may also want to take advantage of our DCS PROMPT™ Remote Support Service and GROW™ Development Services, designed to provide you with thorough, quick, and economical solutions for your business as you look at integrating SEEBURGER. More about SAP
Most SAP shops have long-ago accommodated key customers by receiving PO’s, sending Shipment Notices and Invoices, and receiving Remittance Advices. Most have over 100 key customers and numerous low volume, non-EDI Customers. Conversion of non-EDI customers yields the most rapid pay-back.
Moving low volume customers to an automated method means more conveniences for them and then more sales. There are two ways to link.
- Surprisingly, many Customers use EDI, but have not been asked to do so by the Customer Service department. These are the easiest Customers to automate.
- Other Customers can be asked to send XML or spreadsheet data. The key is a continual, low level rollout of the Customers to EDI processes.
After customers are converted, you may wish to integrate key vendors. The killer document is the inbound PO Acknowledgement (855 or ORDRSP), which alerts material planners to short-shipments or late-shipments. This approach not only enlarges the savings, but also makes the purchasing and logistics departments look good. Building “ownership” of an automation project smoothes its implementation.
Conclusion
SEEBURGER’s BIS for EDI is a process automation tool not sufficiently used. More integration means more time to scrutinize customer orders, a capped head count, and quicker business cycles. DCS can assist you with your SEEBURGER challenges. Your first step is to request our Free EDI Assessment.
