The TMW Systems transportation software products have proven themselves to be leaders for many years in a very competitive arena. With DCS mapping experience, you can fine tune your TMW system's EDI capability. Imagine linking transport EDI documents directly to shipper’s and consignee’s business applications.

As a TMW user, you can move economically to a higher level of customer service by providing pick-up and delivery messages directly to their decision makers. Your higher level of service will be highly visible and your relationship will be more permanent and profitable.

The advent of secure internet (AS2) data transmission, XML, and other EDI advances means the cost savings are realized more quickly when leveraging your existing, time-tested tools. DCS’ in-depth knowledge of TMW System’s TMWSuite™ and TL2000™; plus Kleinschmidt’s EDI VAN™ and Encomium Data International’s Pro_EDI™ systems, ensures your pick-up/delivery status initiative will be completed thoroughly, quickly, and economically.

Overview

TMW users on most platforms (Windows Vista/XP, Server 200x, or System i) have an ample and suitable capacity for each type of customer and their emerging demands. The usual snag is too little time or experience to move to the next level.

Most TMW Systems EDI activity is focused properly on process automation: especially the inbound Load Tender (X12 Transaction Set 204) and outbound Acceptance (990). The next step is to become more competitive by focusing upon customer's and transportation auditor's requirements. TMW has been underutilized when it comes to delivery messages for shippers and pick-up messages for consignees.

There are two steps to the next level: Setting TMW, and telling customers that you are ready. Their linking is done by them. It is less difficult today as most manufacturers’ ERP and accounting systems have data import/export modules designed for logistics and transportation documents. Typically these systems have transportation modules designed to bring shipment information immediately to both the material planner and shipping/receiving manager. This is especially important for high volume customers. Part of DCS' role is to provide you clear mapping specifications for your customer's EDI department.

While the savings from linking to Trading Partners is apparent, the chronic shortage of budget and staff often leaves this opportunity largely unused. DCS can help you set the first customers and train your staff to meet the new service level.

Conclusion

TMW has capability not sufficiently used that can readily raise customer satisfaction. More integration with key customers means more loads and better retention. Our DCS PROMPT Remote Support Service and GROW Development Services are standardized services to ensure thorough, quick, and economical solutions. Having DCS develop the first few Trading Partners and communication parameters lowers the cost of implementation and hastens payback.
